Good Morning Birthday Girl !

Our youngest daughter turned 22 years old the other day! My how the time goes!We were blessed that she's here on her birthday too ! In the past she's worked at Summer Camp and last year she was in Singapore for her 21 st birthday. It was a stop over on her way to India for a Mission trip for the whole summer. Amazing trip she had ! The highlight for her , was working at Mother Teresa's home for Charity.  This year , she will be in China with a group  2011 - Concordia Team for 6 weeks , helping teach ESL students Math and English with her college. Please join me in prayer for her and her group  as they embark this journey, pray for safe travels & protection. I can't wait to hear all the stories and adventures she has to tell.

So I asked her what she would like for her birthday breakfast, she requested Monkey Bread !  Sweets for a sweetie ! She had yogurt while waiting patiently as Lil' Monkey Bundtettes to be baked.   Well, remember I'm trying to organize my recipes ? yea...still a work in progress here...and very frustrating when you can't find a recipe! So I just made my lil' version of Monkey Bread , thanks to my Mom who gave the cute lil' bundtettes pan for me to use! Which  actually bake quicker ! Always a plus when your ready for lil deliciousness in the morning ! Kind of cute reminder  today as we celebrate  our  Dana, who was our lil' monkey toddler ! :) Now she finding out  through her cousin Parker what all lil' monkeys are about! So cute !

So let's get to it! I bet your hungry to try this too!
Using Pillsbury Biscuits, cut in half, melted butter, wax paper, usually use for putting back the cinnamon sugar mixture in shaker container. But this finished it up!Note to myself: I'll have to make some more for future recipes!
The first cut
After the first roll of biscuits cut individually, I got serious! Cut in half, then again in half.
Cut again...
Cute lil' doughettes
Dip each lil' piece that you cut in 1 stick of butter that has been melted.

First piece of dough dipped in Sugar Cinnamon mixture
Tried rolling dough in sugar with fork
Tried another method..slotted spoon,my fingers got buttery mess
As you can see, I got anxious to get this in the oven, so I multi-tasked :).
Now 3 pieces of  dough mixing sugar and cinnamon together, using fork
then place in a  greased lil' Bundtette pan.
Getting really impatient for these yummy bundtettes!
After all Bundtettes filled, place foil over. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Then uncover, bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.
Yea...We were so hungry for these...I forgot to take a picture of them cooling!
So pretend they are cooling on my cooling rack smelling of Cinnamon-y goodness !
Let cool, for 5 minutes then turn lil' Bundtette pan over to release them on cooling rack.
Making the sugar glaze, 1 cup of powdered sugar in bowl.

Add  4-5 teaspoons milk, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, Mix with whisk to desired consistency.
Set a jellyroll/other pan underneath cooling rack, for this will make it so much easier in clean up for when you pour the Sugary Glaze over lil' Bundtettes !

                                                         Ready to eat deliciousness !

Lil' Monkey Bundtettes
Makes 6 Bundtettes
Ingredients:
2 rolls of Pillsbury Biscuits
Cinnamon Sugar Mix * see below
1 stick of butter, melted
Sugar Glaze Recipe see below
    Mix sugar and cinnamon together.
When you make your own Cinnamon Sugar ,you'll immediately notice the difference between the Cinnamon Sugar mixture you combined and the store-bought version. It's like what you used to get growing-up, in the days before the already-mixed version. I remember as a special breakfast treat, my Mom used to sprinkle Cinnamon Sugar on a piece of buttered toast, Yummy.
*Cinnamon Sugar Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
4 teaspoons* ground cinnamon
Preparation:
Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container or shaker to keep on hand for those moments you crave Cinnamon Sugar :)
Note* If you purchase a high quality cinnamon, you may choose to use one less teaspoon of cinnamon, if you purchase a less-expensive brand you may want to add more cinnamon. Personally, I love cinnamon, so as far as I'm concerned, the more, the merrier. Plus, there's several medical studies showing how good cinnamon is for you.

Dip each lil' piece that you cut  in 1 stick of butter that has been melted.
Dip in Sugar Cinnamon mixture, then place in a  greased lil' Bundtette pan.
After all Bundtettes filled, place foil over.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes**.
Then uncover, bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.**
**Sharon's Note: I used my  KitchenAid oven on Convection oven mode for this. It bakes alil' quicker for we are waiting anxiously to enjoy these lil  Bundtettes of  deliciousness !
Let cool, for 5 minutes then turn lil' Bundtette pan over to release them on cooling rack.
Sharon's tip: Set a jellyroll/other pan underneath cooling rack, for this will make it so much easier in clean up for when you pour the Sugary Glaze over 6 lil' Bundtettes ! Ready to eat deliciousness !

The Sugary Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
4-5 teaspoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Mix with whisk to desired consistency.
